Both organisations are struggling to make people conscious of the effect of their consumption of plastic, particularly products which can only be used once. As a result, Adidas has launched a collection of trainers made of recycled plastics. Other organisations such as Surfrider organise events such as an annual beach clean-up. The NGO Global 2000 created a realistic graphic to show the detrimental damage that plastic causes to the oceans. Above all, it seeks to remind us that, since water makes up over 70% of the Earth's surface, it is about time we take more care of the oceans to ensure that plastic never replaces the fish.
